Responsibilities
Research and Concept Development
- Lead trend research and translate insights into seasonal mood boards.
- Define the visual direction and concept for each collection.
- Ensure creative ideas align with brand identity and target consumers.
Design Creation and Alignment
- Design products that reflect market trends and the brand’s principles of fit, thoughtfulness, freshness, and practicality.
- Ensure designs support the merchandising plan and business objectives.
- Present sketches, color stories, and material direction for internal review.
Material Sourcing and Development
- Source suitable fabrics, print bases, and trims for each project.
- Build and maintain relationships with mills and suppliers to secure quality and innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Director, Product Developers, Pattern Makers, and Seamstresses to ensure design intent is executed accurately.
- Communicate design changes clearly to maintain consistency and efficiency.
Product Management and Refinement
- Complete and maintain all design details from concept to final order.
- Adapt designs based on feedback from performance reports and insights.
- Ensure products meet quality, fit, and cost standards.
Vendor Engagement
- Meet independently with fabric and garment vendors to explore new opportunities.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities and align support with upcoming product needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Fashion Design.
- 3–4 years industry experience in fashion or technical design; minimum 3 years for Senior Designer.
- International or overseas design experience is a plus.
- Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; experience with AI design tools or Clo3D is a plus.
- Portfolio demonstrating creative, thoughtful design across diverse projects.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English; Chinese proficiency required to liaise effectively with suppliers in China.
