Job summary

Equinix in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Facility Engineer to join SG6 site. You will help ensure safe and reliable operation of building infrastructure and support systems, with a focus on 12-hour rotating shifts.

This role offers exposure to critical facility infrastructure, BMS monitoring, and collaboration with a global team across a new data center. Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical engineering and 1+ years' experience required; on-site work in Jalan Tukang area.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years hands-on experience maintaining electrical or mechanical equipment.
• Experience in facilities like hospitals, commercial buildings, malls, manufacturing facilities, airports, or industrial plants.
• Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, on-site in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance checks on facility equipment and systems
• Conduct routine repairs, maintenance and installations
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms
• Support troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities

We are looking for a hands‑on Facility Engineer to join our new SG6 site in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who enjoy troubleshooting electrical or mechanical systems and want to build a long‑term career in a critical infrastructure environment.

What You'll Do

As a Facility Engineer, you will help ensure the safe and reliable operation of building infrastructure and support systems.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Perform preventative maintenance checks on facility equipment and systems
• Conduct routine repairs, maintenance and installations
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms
• Support troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities
• Assist with the operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and safety systems
• Escalate and support resolution of facility issues and incidents

Vendor & Site Support

• Coordinate with external service providers and contractors
• Support maintenance activities and ensure work is completed safely
• Review and follow maintenance procedures and work permits
• Maintain site logs and operational documentation

Projects & Collaboration

• Complete work orders and support infrastructure projects
• Assist senior engineers with facility upgrades and incident response
• Collaborate with team members to maintain site reliability and uptime

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Internship experience or 1+ years of hands‑on experience maintaining electrical or mechanical equipment
• Experience gained in facilities such as:
  • Hospitals
  • Commercial buildings
  • Shopping malls
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Airports
  • Industrial plants
  • Facilities management environments
• Strong interest in troubleshooting and fixing equipment issues
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on operational environment
• Able to work rotating 12‑hour shifts (including nights, weekends and public holidays)
• Must have unrestricted working rights in Singapore (Singapore Citizen, PR, or other valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship)
• Able to work on‑site at SG6 (Jalan Tukang area)

Nice to Have

• Exposure to electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, HVAC, chillers or mechanical systems
• Experience using Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Understanding of safety procedures and permit‑to‑work processes
