About the Role

You will assist with the management of the team responsible for all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development programs for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and involves supporting, preventing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide technical leadership in Building General M&E, ACMV systems, Process Utility Systems, and clean room environments to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of shift leads and technicians to achieve optimal performance and ensure staff are trained and supported.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical facility systems, including Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring and Control, and Process Utility Systems.
  • Manage the Facilities Operations Centre (FOC) to respond promptly to Building Management System (BMS) and Fire System alarms.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs that reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Act promptly in emergencies, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to resolve issues and minimize operational disruption.
  • Develop, maintain, and train team members on Technical Playbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs); keep accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance.
  • Manage subcontractors according to company policies and CBRE guidelines during project execution and maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to and enforce quality, health & safety, and environmental policies.
  • Develop and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to integrate facility management services across the site.
  • Familiarize with site‑specific escalation procedures and incident reporting protocols.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by senior management to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Provide formal supervision, monitor training, and conduct performance evaluations lead recruiting efforts, assign tasks, and ensure cross‑training.
  • Assist in developing and managing operating and capital budgets for assigned facilities.
  • Oversee all building systems, including fire and life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical, staying current with the latest technology and best practices.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, vendors, and the facility management team.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of new management contracts and maintain accurate as‑built drawings and operational documentation.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations and client concerns with urgency and client satisfaction.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day‑to‑day operational challenges using technical expertise and collaborative problem‑solving skills.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical services, facilities management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
  • Ability to convey performance expectations, handle problems, and exchange sensitive information.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the department.
  • Expertise in building systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, and Process Utility Systems.
