Job summary

MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR ASIA OPERATIONS PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Facilities Control Engineer to lead engineering and maintenance of control and SMART facility systems on site. You will ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance of critical control infrastructure supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with site and corporate objectives, contributing expert technical knowledge and leadership to drive innovative solutions

Qualifications

• Master's/Bachelor’s/advanced degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
• Experience in Instrumentation and Control Systems Design, Maintenance, and Operations within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments is preferred
• Certification on PLC, SCADA; knowledge of Python/R, Web development, Hadoop, SQL; problem solving and data analysis; maintenance practices for PLC, Instrumentation, Toxic Gas Monitoring and SCADA.
• Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels
• Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
• Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
• Proven leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
• Interest in the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred
• Knowledge of SPC, DOE, engineering statistical data analysis would be advantageous.
• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively

Responsibilities

• Champion environmental, health, and safety compliance across all control operations. Perform risk assessments and promote a culture of safety and operational discipline.
• Lead commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of control systems.
• Provide expert-level support for complex operational issues and lead root cause investigations using 8D problem-solving methodologies.
• Oversee capacity planning, system performance analysis and execution of expansion projects to enable site growth and production demands.
• Review and validate scope, schedule, and cost estimates for infrastructure upgrades. Provide engineering oversight and technical guidance during design and construction phases.
• Perform risk assessments and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to eliminate single points of failure and enhance system resilience.
• Mentor and develop control engineers and technicians through structured training programs and hands-on site engagement.
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for system abnormalities.
• Drive strategic initiatives for system capacity expansion, reliability improvement, and energy efficiency.
• Spearhead the deployment of SMART power systems, predictive diagnostics, and digital tools to enhance team productivity and system intelligence.
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.

This role is essential for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of control infrastructure that supports advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive alignment with site, corporate, and departmental objectives.

They will contribute expert technical knowledge to advance innovative solutions, ensuring visible impact at the project or program level. The role also requires awareness of leadership skill development, fostering growth in both technical and leadership dimensions.

Job Requirements, Qualifications/Experience

• Master's/Bachelor’s/advanced degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required

• Experience in Instrumentation and Control Systems Design, Maintenance, and Operations withinsemiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments is preferred

• Possession of certification on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). Knowledge of Python/R, Web development (Front end and Back end), Software ecosystem (Hadoop), database (SQL), statistical knowledge or relevant programming skills will be advantageous. Knowledge and application of problem solving and data analysis methodology. Knowledge ofmaintenance practices and procedure and installation work for PLC, Instrumentation, Toxic Gas Monitoring and SCADA.
