Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm in Singapore seeks a Technician / Assistant Service Engineer / Service Engineer to enhance Singapore’s Precision Engineering sector. Responsibilities include failure analysis, lab operations, and quality support, requiring a diploma in Materials Science/Electronics and 2+ years of relevant experience. Candidates with microscopy analysis skills and understanding of IC packaging are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years hands-on FA experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience with automated FA tools and knowledge of JEDEC/IPC standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform root-cause analysis on defective components using various techniques.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment and prepare detailed failure analysis reports.
  • Work with QA/QC teams to identify production process weaknesses.
  • Develop new FA methodologies and maintain lab standards.

We are looking for Technician / Assistant Service Engineer / Service Engineer. Title will be offer based on relevant experience or education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Failure Analysis & Testing: Perform root‑cause analysis on defective components using techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM/EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy), cross‑sectioning, X‑ray imaging.
  • Lab Operations: Operate and maintain FA lab equipment (e.g., decapsulation tools, bond pull testers) and prepare detailed failure analysis reports with photographic evidence.
  • Quality Support: Work with QA/QC teams to identify production process weaknesses and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop new FA methodologies for emerging technologies, maintain lab 5S standards and calibration schedules.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Must‑Have: Diploma in Materials Science/Electronics/Mechatronics; 2+ years hands‑on FA experience in semiconductor, precision engineering or electronics manufacturing.
  • Technical Competencies: Microscopy analysis, basic material characterization, understanding of IC packaging/PCB assembly.
  • Preferred: Experience with automated FA tools, knowledge of JEDEC/IPC standards, certification in FA techniques.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work with microscopes for extended periods.
  • Handle small components with tweezers/tools.
