Job summary

EY Corporate Finance in Singapore is seeking an M&A professional for our Mid-Markets team. You will drive deal generation, execution and project management across Southeast Asia, independently preparing financial models, analyses and client-ready documents.

You will advise C-suite executives, build a strong origination network and mentor junior staff, contributing to high-impact transactions and strategic advisory for diverse regional clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or banking.
• Minimum 8 years’ corporate finance experience in relevant settings.
• Strong financial modelling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Experience on buy-side and sell-side and in fund-raising.

The Opportunity

The Corporate Finance team has been licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a capital marketsservices provider of corporate finance advisory services since 2001.

As a licensed capital markets services adviser, EY Corporate Finance offers an extensive suite ofservices, including:

• Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory
• Fund-Raising
• Capital Markets Advisory
• Regulatory Compliance and General Advisory

We are looking to build on our recent successes and continue to enhance the origination and execution capacity of the team by recruiting an M&A professional for our Mid-Markets team.

Leveraging an extensive global network, our M&A team provides sector-focused advice throughout the sale process, from strategic positioning to closing. We assist in executing acquisitions, alliances, and mergers.

As part of this team, you will also advise C-suite executives and boards on evaluating strategic alternatives in the context of transactions.

Your key responsibilities

• Be a key member of our dynamic corporate finance team covering Southeast Asia, working with regional and multinational clients.
• Take responsibility for M&A deal generation, execution, and project management under the overall guidance of senior executives within the team.
• Independently prepare financial models, analyses, proposals, and marketing documents for M&A and corporate finance transactions.
• Produce high-quality, relevant, and impactful professional documents while maintaining client confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
• Develop your own business network to enhance your origination capabilities over the medium term.
• Provide leadership to junior team members in producing information memoranda, financial models, and other transaction documentation.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Economics or Banking.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant corporate finance experience in an investment bank, professional services firm, or boutique consulting firm.
• Experience with the Japan-ASEAN corridor; proficiency in Japanese is preferred due to daily interactions with Japanese clients.
• Strong financial modelling skills based on a well-developed understanding of financial statements.
• A track record of working on both the buy-side and sell-side, as well as in finance raising.
• Experience in valuing companies using various methodologies, primarily DCF, precedent transactions, and traded comparable companies.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality and impactful professional documents for clients and internal use.
• Sound commercial judgment and the ability to generate creative solutions to problems.
