Job summary

A leading university in Singapore is looking for a candidate to manage research grants and support the submission of project proposals. The role requires strong communication, analytical, and writing skills, along with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s degree or Polytechnic diploma is required. An initial two-year contract is offered, with potential for extension.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with no work experience or Polytechnic Diploma with work experience.

  • Able to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Strong sense of customer service.
  • Initial 2 years' contract offered, subject to extension.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison in the preparation and submission of project proposals and agreements.
  • Administer research grants and reconcile accounts.
  • Monitor research project funds utilization and provide updates.
  • Coordinate with grantors and manage funds receipt.
  • Engage students and coordinate re-appointments of research staff.
  • Liaise with researchers and vendors for procurement.
  • Prepare meeting materials as secretariat.
  • Coordinate publicity and logistics for conferences.

Job Description

The candidate reports to the Head of the NUS School of Computing Research Office and works closely with the research grant administration team to manage both internally funded as well as externally funded research grants from government agencies and industries. The candidate will receive training and the opportunity to carry out assignments in the following areas:

  • Act as the primary liaison in the preparation and submission of project proposals, agreements, budget plans and reports.
  • Administer research grants and reconcile accounts statements.
  • Monitor the research project funds utilization and provide periodic updates.
  • Coordinate with grantors, track the receipt of funds, prepare documents for audit and process payments and claims.
  • Coordinate the re‑appointments of research staff and the engagement of students.
  • Liaise with researchers and vendors on the procurement of goods and services.
  • Serve as secretariat for meetings and prepare presentation material.
  • Coordinate the publicity and logistics preparation for conferences and workshops.
