Job summary

Job Purpose

Provide engineering solutions to reliability problems affecting SMRT Signalling, Communication & Control System and their associated equipment. Required to independently conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, and develop engineering solutions to the problems identified.

Responsibilities
  1. Work effectively with Operations and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects. To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify them.
  2. Analyze and trend condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns. To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to overcome them.
  3. Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  4. Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance SMRT Signaling, Communication & Control System performance.
  5. Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability. To provide other engineering support to the projects, as required.
  6. Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace.
  7. Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor.
  8. Work in any SMRT lines or Maintenance Depots.
  9. Work in rotating or fixed shifts
Qualifications & Work Experience
  1. Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent from recognized institution
  2. Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
Skills
  1. Adept with diagnostic and reliability engineering methodologies, such as Weibull Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Best practices in Maintenance Science
  2. Exhibit Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.
  3. Able to work independently and as a team.
  4. Fluent in written and spoken skills in English
  5. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  6. Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
