Overview / Role Purpose
The Operations In-Charge (Warehouse & Logistics) is responsible for managing daily warehouse and logistics operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. This role oversees inbound and outbound activities, inventory control, and logistics coordination while upholding safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The incumbent will lead a team to achieve warehouse KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Manage and oversee all warehouse activities including inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound processes to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
 
- Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and material flow for improved efficiency and safety.
 
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliation, and system updates.
 
- Enforce compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, and local regulations.
 
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce cost, and improve accuracy.
 
Logistics Coordination
- Plan, manage, and coordinate both local and international shipments with logistics providers and freight forwarders.
 
- Track shipping schedules, customs clearance, and delivery lead times to ensure on-time performance.
 
- Negotiate freight rates and service terms to achieve cost savings and service reliability.
 
- Handle import/export documentation in compliance with relevant regulations and company requirements.
 
Performance & Accountability
- Monitor and report key operational KPIs such as warehouse efficiency, order accuracy, fulfillment rate, and logistics cost.
 
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and develop improvement plans.
 
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives with measurable outcomes.
 
- Take ownership of problem-solving and escalation management in warehouse and logistics matters.
 
People Management
- Supervise and guide warehouse and logistics staff, ensuring effective task allocation and performance monitoring.
 
- Promote a positive, safe, and disciplined work culture built on teamwork and accountability.
 
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to support staff development and retention.
 
System & Process Management
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in ERP/WMS systems.
 
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system utilization and reporting accuracy.
 
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regularly to align with evolving business needs.
 
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
 
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in warehouse and logistics operations, preferably in FMCG or distribution environment.
 
- Good understanding of import/export procedures and documentation.
 
- Proven experience in team supervision and performance management.
 
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/WMS systems.
 
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
 
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
