Job summary

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in Singapore seeks resourceful, energetic individuals to regulate safety and lead transformation of the built environment. You will contribute to administering building regulations and shaping strategies to ensure a future-ready built environment.

You will review submissions, focus on safety, sustainability and accessibility, and collaborate with related agencies to improve processes and IT systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in consultancy and design.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with eagerness to learn.
• Certification or strong BIM knowledge is an advantage.

[What the role is]

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment.

[What you will be working on]

You will play a major role in administering building regulations and developing new strategies that will shape a future-ready Built Environment Sector. You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing/developing strategies and policies in relation to the Building Control (Temporary Buildings/ Advertising Licensing) Regulations,

• Enhancing processes and managing operations under the BC (Temporary Buildings/ Advertising Licensing) Regulations; which includes facilitating a pro-business environment, which include IT system development and working closely with related agencies.

• Approving submissions on building plans including the designs related to safety, environmental sustainability and barrier-free accessibility;

[What we are looking for]

• A degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.

• At least2 years of relevant experience, preferably in consultancy and design

• Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to work in a team and possess eagerness to learn

• Motivated and fast learner

• Candidates who possess professional certification, or strong technical/BIM knowledge will be an advantage
