Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Executive Director for DevOps/SRE to lead reliability strategy across a latency-sensitive trading platform. You will drive automation, governance, and cross-functional delivery spanning regions, ensuring security, compliance, and production readiness.

You will mentor teams, own SLO/SLA, and push for standardized practices, observability, and scalable infrastructure. This role demands strong leadership and a track record in regulated, high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive experience in DevOps, SRE, Production Engineering, or Platform Engineering with leadership of teams and measurable outcomes.
• Experience supporting electronic trading or low-latency environments.
• Accountability for production excellence: incident management oversight and resilience practices.
• Strong experience with CI/CD and release engineering at scale with multi-region deployment.
• Strong Linux experience and performance diagnostics; setting standards for tuning and capacity management.
• Automation background (Python and shell) with self-service tooling.
• Infrastructure automation and IaC practices (Ansible/Puppet/Salt).
• Networking fundamentals and collaboration with network teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the DevOps/SRE strategy and roadmap for the Electronic Market Making platform.
• Own governance for significant DevOps/SRE initiatives with clear outcomes and milestones.
• Lead cross-functional delivery across engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams across regions.
• Establish production excellence standards and oversee incident management and remediation.
• Set resilience practices including automated failover and disaster recovery.
• Own SLO/SLA and observability strategy to ensure uptime and performance transparency.
• Lead CI/CD, release engineering, and multi-region deployment automation.
• Drive developer enablement via internal platforms and self-service tooling.
• Implement a shared-responsibility operating model across teams for security and compliance.
• Lead and develop DevOps/SRE talent and manage delivery risks.
