Job Description:

SINDA seeks a dynamic Communications and Public Relations Executive to support the organisation’s strategic communication and brand management. From shaping creative communications that resonate with target groups, to conceptualising and bringing to life media campaigns, this position will work within a dynamic and professional team, driven to deliver results.

This role is responsible for enhancing the organisation’s public image, managing media relations, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.

Responsibilities
  1. Content Writing and Media Communications
    • Draft articles, press releases, speeches and online content to support corporate communications across platforms
    • Prepare media kits and background materials for events or press engagements
    • Monitor and track media mentions, compiling regular reports to assess visibility and impact.
  2. Contribute to Communication Campaigns
    • Research and draft copy for digital and print platforms, ensuring messages are engaging and aligned with brand tone
    • Craft brand stories that amplify stakeholder voices
    • Provide logistical and creative support for video scripting, photo shoots, and campaign materials
    • Contribute ideas to team discussions on communication and marketing strategies.
  3. Oversee Publications and Collateral Development
    • Manage the end-to-end production of flagship publications such as annual reports and newsletters; undertake the editorial process by proofreading and fact-checking content
    • Assist in producing basic outreach materials such as brochures and graphics
    • Liaise with internal teams to gather information for publication development.
  4. Maintain Brand Consistency
    • Ensure organisational branding materials are applied correctly across platforms and events
    • Contribute to team-level SOPs for brand consistency
    • Provide administrative support in updating communication templates and brand resources.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Mass Communications/Journalism/Media Communications with at least one year of relevant working experience
  • Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply
  • Knowledge of local media industry, with media contacts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Tamil
  • Proficient in media monitoring software
  • Good aesthetic sense with the ability to produce content on demand
  • Familiarity with design tools (Canva/Adobe Suite) and publication production is beneficial
  • Fundamental understanding of SEO and SEM
  • Resilience and commitment to manage long-term projects
  • Willingness to work on weekday evenings and weekends and in outdoor settings, when required (will be compensated with time off)
  • Able to participate in SINDA-wide events, when required (will be compensated with time off/Off-in-Lieu)

This is a 2-year contract position, convertible to a permanent role subject to performance and divisional requirements.
