Job summary

A recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for a Claims Processing Specialist who will manage claims from local universities, monitor finances, and communicate with stakeholders. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of experience in financial administration, are proficient in Microsoft Excel, and possess strong communication skills. This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in grant management, claims processing, or financial administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation.
  • Experience in finance, research funding, or grant management is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process claims from local universities involved in research projects.
  • Work closely with programme managers to monitor and manage project finances.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and propose improvements in the financial management of research grants.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Job description

Working Hours: Mon–Thurs 8.30am to 6pm, Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm

Salary: Up to $4600

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 6-Months contract (extendable to 5 more months)

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Processing: Manage and process claims from local universities involved in research projects to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Financial Administration: Work closely with programme managers to monitor and manage project finances, ensuring that funds are allocated and tracked correctly.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, addressing queries and ensuring smooth communication regarding finance and claims.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and propose improvements in the financial management of research grants to align with national guidelines and minimize the risk of grant fraud.

  • Additional Support: Assist with other administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience in grant management, claims processing, or financial administration (preferably in a research or academic setting).

  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Index Match) for data analysis and report generation.

  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Project Management, or related fields is a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Other: Experience in finance, research funding, or grant management is highly desirable.
