Evaluation Trainee - Your future position?

The Evaluation Trainee is responsible to complete training programme, perform assigned responsibilities and shadow senior colleagues in order to gain knowledge and experience in Fragrance Evaluation area, according to learning plan and company talent needs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Fragrance Evaluation Development
  • Develop basic fragrance understanding including history, raw materials, fragrance families and perfume archetypes through guided learning and self-study
  • Undertake assignments in category teams and develop deep understanding of evaluation protocols, market and consumer dynamics, best sellers and best smellers within the categories
  • Understand the brief process and develop ability to complete simple briefs with coaching from CFM, using IBIS system. Shadow more senior evaluators on real-time briefs
  • Undertake assignments in other departments to gain in-depth understanding of related functions in the organisation

Evaluation Training Programme

  • Commit to, and complete on time, all stages of Evaluation Training Programme as agreed with CFD or CFM responsible for guiding training

Givaudan Systems

  • Develop ability to search Colibri for fragrance candidates/creative starting points.
  • Develop ability to search FragranceLand for relevant themes

Your professional profile includes:

Academic background

  • University Degree (or equivalent) Chemistry, ISIPCA
  • Verbal and written command of English

Demonstrated:

  • Proficiency in using common PC applications
  • Competent olfactory skills: ability to define, recognize and memorize olfactory notes and fragrance language terms and determine olfactory directions (to be assessed by standardized olfactory test)

Professional experience:

Some work experience welcome, but not necessary

Evaluation/Applications Skills:

  • Acquire Raw Material understanding
  • Willingness to acquire and incorporate basic understanding of consumer olfactory preferences into fragrance evaluation
  • Build competent knowledge of fragrance applications across categories and reactions/interactions across different bases
  • Developing understanding of Givaudan Applications/Evaluation/Research methodologies, principles, protocols and documentation
  • Developing basic knowledge of fragrance products, general market dynamics, and key customers
  • Build knowledge of customers' products and processes

Givaudan Systems:

  • Effectively use Givaudan systems (IBIS, Fragranceland, Colibri etc.) to identify themes and resources to meet project priorities

Project Management:

  • Understanding of Givaudan's brief process and functional interfaces
