A leading paint and coatings company in Singapore is looking for a professional to serve as a regional champion for sustainability reporting and climate risk management. The role involves implementing ESG frameworks, carbon accounting, and engaging stakeholders to enhance sustainability practices. The ideal candidate has 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience and a strong educational background in sustainability or a related field.
The role act as a regional champion (Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka) for sustainability reporting and climate risk management, working closely with NIPSEA Corporate Sustainability team. The incumbent will drive ESG reporting based on global reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB, and ISSB, lead carbon accounting and decarbonization initiatives, and help the business understand and respond to sustainability‑related risks and opportunities through scenario analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Lead the implementation of sustainability reporting in accordance with global and industry‑specific reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB, and ISSB (IFRS S1/S2) at regional or business unit level.
Ensure alignment with local and international regulatory ESG reporting requirements.
Support double materiality assessments, data consolidation, and preparation of ESG disclosures for annual sustainability reports.
Oversee the accurate measurement and reporting of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions, aligned with the GHG Protocol.
Drive initiatives for emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and climate transition, in alignment with corporate energy reduction, net‑zero or science‑based targets.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent carbon data management and reporting processes.
Facilitate climate scenario analysis using relevant global pathways (Eg, IPCC, IEA), with a localized understanding of physical and transition risks.
Work with relevant stakeholders to quantify climate‑related risks and opportunities across short‑, medium‑, and long‑term horizons, integrating findings into business planning.
Support the integration of climate risk into enterprise risk management frameworks.
Work with the Procurement team to integrate ESG criteria into supplier selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring, in line with corporate sustainable procurement policies and Supplier Code of Conduct.
Monitor supplier compliance with sustainable procurement policies, Supplier Code of Conduct, and related environmental and social policies.
Support supplier engagement and capability building initiatives to strengthen ESG awareness, transparency, data quality, and adoption of low‑carbon and responsible sourcing practices.
Engage with internal stakeholders (Eg, operations, finance, procurement) to embed sustainability into business processes.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulators, consultants, and investors, on ESG disclosures and assurance.
Build sustainability capabilities across the region through training, knowledge sharing, and guidance on reporting and risk analysis.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of ESG and carbon data across reporting systems.
Use or support implementation of ESG platforms/tools (including Univers' ENOS) to streamline reporting and monitoring.
Track and communicate progress against KPIs for emissions reduction, climate targets, and ESG strategy execution.
Stay current with emerging ESG standards and regulatory trends (Eg, ISSB adoption, regional mandates).
Anticipate changes in stakeholder expectations and inform the organization's strategic sustainability response.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Climate Policy, or a related field.
5 to 8+ years of experience in ESG reporting, climate risk analysis, or sustainability.
Working knowledge of GRI, ISSB (IFRS S1/S2), and other relevant standards/frameworks (Eg, TCFD, SASB).
Strong background in carbon accounting, especially measuring and reporting Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in line with GHG Protocol.
Experience with climate scenario modelling, risk quantification, and climate‑related financial disclosures is advantageous.
Understanding of procurement processes and experience engaging and collaborating with suppliers.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to align cross‑functional teams and influence decision‑making.
Analytical mindset and excellent project management capabilities.
Ability to distil technical sustainability and climate data into actionable insights for business leaders.
Good writing abilities with keen attention to detail and clarity.
