Job Description

This job is responsible for working with Global Environmental Group, Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Policy teammates, as well as line of business, risk and other partners across the enterprise to advise and guide on the evaluation of potential environmental and social risks. Key responsibilities include playing a critical role in executing the bank’s environmental and social risk strategy. Job expectations include conducting environmental and social risk reviews and due diligence for relevant transactions and clients across a range of industry sectors in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with line of business and risk partners on environmental and social risks, including developing and delivering education materials
  • Support engagements with external stakeholders (NGOs, shareholders, etc.) on environmental and social risks and issues
  • Provide project management support and collaboration on firm sustainability-related initiatives
  • Advise on further development of environmental and social risk policies and procedures as well as monitor best practices and emerging risk areas
  • Track and advise on relevant regional regulatory developments
  • Assist with responding to regulatory and stakeholder inquiries related to environmental and social matters
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to successfully multi‑task and make accurate decisions under short time deadlines and with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze and assess risks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize information into concise reports and communications and engage with internal executives as well as external parties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel, and other business technologies
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of environmental and social/human rights topics, including relevant international standards
  • Banking and financial services expertise, including lending and capital markets
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a global, matrixed organization
  • Comfortable in a complex, fast paced and results‑oriented corporate environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a global team and take initiative to contribute to team success
  • 6-10+ years of relevant professional experience in the ESG/sustainability, environmental sustainability, climate, human rights or similar field.
  • Open to look at candidates across APAC location.
