Key Responsibilities
1. Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting
- Respond to client-reported issues for all security systems:
- CCTV cameras and NVR/DVR systems
- Card Access readers, controllers, and locks
- Turnstiles, carpark barriers, and flag barriers
- UVSS and FIDS
- Conduct on-site inspections to identify root causes of system faults.
- Use diagnostic tools, software, and test equipment to verify and isolate problems.
2. Rectification & Repair
- Perform corrective actions to restore equipment to full functionality, including:
- Replacing faulty components (cables, controllers, locks, sensors, cameras, motors, etc.)
- Repairing mechanical parts on barriers, turnstiles, or gates
- Reconfiguring software or access permissions for card systems
- Resetting or reprogramming devices after failure
- Ensure all repairs are done according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
3. Emergency & SLA-Based Response
- Respond promptly to urgent faults or system failures based on SLA agreements.
- Prioritize critical equipment affecting security or operations (e.g., main entry points, CCTV in high-risk areas).
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level technicians or engineers as needed.
4. Testing & Verification
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
- Conduct system checks to confirm that all related devices and software integrations are working.
- Verify that any replaced parts are compatible and meet operational requirements.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed service reports including:
- Fault description
- Cause analysis
- Rectification actions taken
- Parts replaced
- Recommendations for preventive measures
- Record work in company maintenance management system for tracking and billing purposes.
6. Client Interaction
- Communicate clearly with clients about faults, repair progress, and timelines.
- Provide basic advice on system care to prevent recurring issues.
- Gain client acknowledgment after successful rectification.
7. Continuous Learning & Safety Compliance
- Stay updated on new equipment models, firmware updates, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Follow all safety and operational procedures, especially when working with high-voltage devices, moving mechanical parts, or height access points.
- Report unsafe conditions or recurring failures for corrective action.
