Job summary

AWWA LTD. in Singapore is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to deliver in-home and community care, performing health assessments and implementing individualized nursing plans for residents.

You will support staff, supervise assistants, uphold PDPA and confidentiality, and ensure safety while caring for the elderly. Registration with Singapore Nursing Board and NITEC in Nursing are required, with at least 3 years in community care.

Qualifications

• NITEC in Nursing required.
• Enrolled Nurse registration with Singapore Nursing Board mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience in community care.

Responsibilities

• Perform health assessment of residents’ conditions
• Carry out individualised planned nursing interventions for the residents
• Perform / assist in procedures and treatments
• Adhere to infection control and prevention practices in resident care activities
• Assist residents in activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living
• Pack medication and remind residents to take medications
• Assist in meal preparation for clients
• Teach residents proper self-care techniques
• Support in medical emergencies or crises
• Monitor residents for early signs of deterioration using physiological assessments
• Provide feedback on risk assessment and quality management
• Supervise care associates and nursing aides in daily tasks
• Plan and conduct social, recreational and educational activities to promote independence, health and quality of life
• Guide residents in developing personal and social skills
• Ensure safety by maintaining a clutter-free environment
• Supervise staff in daily work and ensure confidentiality per PDPA when using NEHR systems

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform health assessment of residents’ conditions
• Carry out individualised planned nursing interventions for the residents.
• Perform / Assit in procedures and treatments
• Adhere to infection control and prevention practices in resident care activities
• Assist residents in their activities of daily living and their instrumental activities of daily living
• Pack medication and provide medication reminder to residents
• Assist in preparation of meals for clients.
• Teach residents proper techniques in self-care.
• Assist in supporting trained staff in medical emergencies or crisis situations
• Monitor residents for early signs and/ or deterioration using appropriate physiological assessments and observations
• Provide feedback on risk assessment and quality management activities
• Support supervision of support care staff and enrolled nurse trainees in performing basic nursing care activities
• Plan and conduct social, recreational and educational activities to promote residents’ independence, health, wellness, and quality of life
• Guide residents in the development of basic personal and social skills, and simple academics
• Ensure safety of residents at all times by being vigilant and keep environment clutter free.
• Supervise the Care Asscociate / Nursing Aides and Health Care Attendants in their daily work.
• Develop a general knowledge level of MISSION Framework and understanding of AWWA Mission
• Ensure clients’ confidentiality is maintained and adhered to PDPA policy when using systems such as NEHR, and when handling confidential information to stakeholders

Requirements:

• NITEC in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in the community care sector
• Must be currently registered as Enrolled Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
• Able to work independently
• Possess excellent communication skills when engaging the elderly
