Responsibilities
- Participating in the planning of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Implementing the planned curriculum, understanding and taking into consideration the different needs and abilities.
- Creating appropriate teaching aids or resources to help you with your task of teaching in a creative classroom.
- Setting up appropriate learning corners with more hands‑on activities.
- Directing Assistant or Co‑teachers in your daily activity needs.
- Washing of toys fortnightly after school hours.
- Changing toys and books every term/semester.
- Hanging up mobiles along corridors as well as in class. Change bulletin boards according to curriculum.
- Creating a conducive, safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment to help promote and enhance the all‑round development and well‑being of the children.
- Maintaining an appropriate code of conduct for children * with regard to classroom management and discipline for the children.
- Instilling in the children a sense of respect for their elders, teachers, friends and the environment.
- Interacting appropriately with the children at all times.
- Maintaining communication with the parents with regards to their children’s progress at school.
Requirements
- Diploma in Preschool Education / Early Childhood Care.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in early childhood education.
