Workshop Supervisor (Engineering)
- Location: Tuas
- Company Transport / Transport Allowance if candidate travel to work by themselves
- Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm), Saturday (8am – 12pm)
- Basic: $3000 to $3400 + Entitled to OT
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Fabrication technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial metal work, including supervisory experience.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication standards, and welding procedures.
- Familiar with common tools: MIG/TIG/Stick welding, grinder, gas cutter, plasma cutter, slip roller & etc.
- Safety knowledge of hot work and workshop safety regulations.

Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations in the workshop, including cutting, welding, griding, drilling and repairs.
- Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into clear work instructions for the team.
- Allocate manpower and monitor job progress to meet schedule and quality expectations.
- Ensure fabrication work aligns with structural integrity, tolerances and requirements.
- Inspect completed jobs for workmanship, dimensional accuracy and welding quality.
- Support root cause analysis of failed or defective components and propose design/fabrication improvements.
- Ensure availability of materials, tools and consumables required for jobs.
- Monitor usage of welding rods, gas cylinders, grinding discs and consumables to control costs.
- Supervisor technicians and provide on job coaching, identify training needs and skills gaps; propose development plans for the team.
- Ensure compliance with workshop safety rules, PPE usage, permit protocols and housekeeping of area.
