Job description
Overview

The Process Engineering team works closely with the Materials Science Laboratory (MSL) under the Asia Media Development group. This role is designed to bridge process engineering and material science by learning MSL methodologies and applying them to optimize manufacturing processes. The team supports new and sustaining media manufacturing lines, focusing on yield improvement, process stability, and integration of material analysis into production workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Be attached to the Materials Science Laboratory team to learn analytical techniques, failure analysis methods, and material qualification processes.
  • Collaborate with MSL engineers to translate laboratory findings into actionable process improvements on the production floor.
  • Conduct process evaluations, monitor key parameters, and implement corrective actions to enhance yield and quality.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining activities by aligning process requirements with material specifications.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to cross‑functional teams.
  • Participate in troubleshooting sessions for complex process‑material interactions.
  • Perform any other ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the manager to support operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  • Comfortable working across both laboratory and production environments.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Are prepared to work in a Cleanroom Environment
  • Willing to work on 12hr (7.30am to 7.45pm) Day shift pattern
Additional Experience
  • Relevant experience in the manufacturing industry will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) tools will be added advantage
