Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee and coordinate technical aspects of projects in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience, a degree in engineering, and a solid understanding of EPC project execution practices. Job description

The Engineering Manager will oversee and coordinate all engineering and technical aspects of the project during the planning and execution stages.

This includes managing resources, ensuring design integrity, and supporting the Project Manager on all engineering-related matters throughout detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, organize, and supervise the engineering function from project initiation to completion.
  • Establish clear objectives, responsibilities, and communication channels within the engineering team.
  • Define the engineering scope of work and assign tasks with proper ownership and accountability.
  • Manage and monitor engineering deliverables, ensuring timely submission, quality compliance, and adherence to the project schedule.
  • Implement and maintain an effective review and approval process for all technical documents and drawings.
  • Coordinate design and technical activities involving external engineering firms, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers.
  • Provide technical oversight and resolve engineering issues to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant capacity.
  • Solid working knowledge of EPC project execution practices within the oil and gas sector.
  • Familiar with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS, BS, NFPA) as well as local standards such as SS532 and BCA guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in technical writing for reports, reviews, and training documentation.
  • Skilled in mentoring and providing technical training or guidance to team members.
