Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Design Manager to lead a team in the detailed design and tender documentation for Waste to Energy and Sludge Incineration projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of engineering experience, particularly with large-scale utilities projects. A Professional Engineer certification is preferred, along with excellent communication skills. This position offers full-time employment with mid-senior level responsibilities.

Qualifications

Overview

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Managing a team of multi-disciplinary engineers in undertaking detailed design and tender documentation for the Waste to Energy (WTE) and Sludge Incineration Facility (SIF).
• Evaluate the technical aspects of tenders received by the Client for the construction contracts
• Direct liaison with Client’s Technical Directors
• Reviewing and monitoring the Contractor’s design submittals
• Chairing regular Design Review Coordination Meetings with the Contractors
• Technical support to the Resident Site Staff team during the construction/erection and commissioning phases
• Responsible for the overall technical accuracy and adequacy of the work i.e. the contractor’s deliverables for the design under their contracts
• Any other matters that may from time to time be delegated by the PD/PM.

Requirements

• a Professional Engineer/Chartered Engineer registered in his/her country of practice is preferred
• with a minimum of 20 years of relevant engineering experience in delivery of large-scale industrial/utilities projects (e.g. waste, water, oil & gas, power) and relevant experience in delivering large-scale solid waste management projects (e.g. waste-to-energy, sludge incineration, materials recovery and food waste treatment)

It will be added advantage if the individual has:-

• Undertaken similar role in the last 10 years
• Has worked in Singapore previously.
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Excellent interpersonal skills
