Job summary

The National University Health System Pte. Ltd. seeks an on-site Biomedical Equipment Technician to support the lifecycle of medical equipment, including commissioning, preventive maintenance, and decommissioning.

You will work with diverse hospital teams to ensure equipment reliability and safety. Responsibilities include supervising vendor activities, updating users on performance, investigating faults, managing spares, and coordinating services with project consultants.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronics / Biomedical Engineering or equivalent engineering course.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic IT knowledge including Microsoft Office/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for commissioning, operation, maintenance and de-commissioning of medical equipment.
• Supervise vendors and contractors on maintenance works to ensure quality and standards.
• Update and collect feedback from users on maintenance, performance, reliability and quality.
• Check, analyze and investigate faults/complaints/hazards and assist engineers in action plans.
• Ensure quality of works conform to hospital standards and quality initiatives.
• Manage stock and spares for frontline technical support and assist stock documentation.
• Assist engineers in coordinating services for equipment projects with vendors and consultants.
• Perform other duties as assigned by BME engineers.

Overview

The incumbent provides engineering support to the lifecycle of a medical equipment, which includes commissioning of new medical equipment, breakdown and preventive maintenance and de-commissioning of medical equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to all hospital personnel in the commissioning, operation, maintenance and de-commissioning of medical equipment
• Supervise the specialist vendors and appointed contractors on medical equipment maintenance works to ensure quality of works and compliance to required standards
• Update and collect feedback from users regularly on the maintenance, performance, reliability and quality of medical equipment
• Check, analyse and investigate faults / complaints / hazards on medical equipment and assist BME engineers in mapping out and implementation of required action plans
• Ensure quality of works conform to standards and practices that the hospital subscribes to, including other quality initiatives driven by hospital and department
• Manage stock and spares for front line technical support and assist stock supervisor in documentations
• Assist BME engineers in coordinating services for medical equipment projects with vendors, contractors and appointed project consultants
• Perform any other duties and tasks as assigned by BME engineers

Requirements

• Preferably a Diploma in Electronics / Biomedical Engineering or equivalent engineering course
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Positive work attitude and the ability to work with all levels of staff
• Possess good analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Possess basic knowledge on IT, such as Microsoft Office. Microsoft Excel
• Advantageous to have basic understanding in Cybersecurity and IT network knowledge
