Job summary

Citi is seeking a Java Micro Service Developer to join an agile team building enterprise systems on Spring Boot and Angular. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, write tests, and ensure security and performance of mission-critical services.

Responsibilities include design and development using Java/Spring Boot, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration with SRE and monitoring teams. Strong SDLC knowledge and AI tool exposure are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Java development experience with micro-services and Spring/Hibernate.
• 5+ years in Core Java/J2EE, Node.js, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with SOA, REST services, and SDLC.
• Exposure to AI coding tools like Devin and Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency microservice applications.
• Development using Java, Spring Boot with Angular.
• Day to day development work in Agile development environment using JIRA.
• CI/CD with Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins, etc.
• Writing unit tests in JavaScript using modern testing tools.
• Unit Testing using mocking frameworks.
• Secure micro services to Citi security standards.
• Develop and implement monitoring controls; integrate with monitoring tools.
• Tune performance and availability to meet SLOs/SLAs.
• Contribute to SRE teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on end-to-end resiliency and business continuity testing.
• Provide Level 3 support on critical issues.

Job Description:

This role is for Java Micro Service Developer who will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise-level software systems on top Spring Boot, Java, and Agular Material development stack using CI/CD framework on ECS platform with microservice architecture, and database knowledge.

Java Micro Service Developer is responsible for design and development of high-volume, low-latency, highly scalable applications for mission-critical application services. Expectation is to contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle including writing well designed, testable, efficient code, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of high-volume, low-latency, highly scalable applications for mission-critical application services.
• Development using Java, Spring Boot framework with Angular
• Day to day development work in Agile development environment using JIRA
• Application code development, integration testing, and deployment using CI/CD framework using Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins, BMC RLM, etc.
• Writing unit tests in java script using modern testing tools
• Unit Testing using mocking frameworks
• Securing the micro service applications to complaint to Citi security standards
• Development and Implementation of monitoring controls, integration with monitoring and reporting tools
• Tuning the application’s performance and availability to meet the application SLO and SLAs
• Contribute to SRE team work on continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on end-to-end resiliency and continuity of business tests.
• Provide level 3 support on critical application issues

Experience

• 2+ years java development experience with java based micro-services framework and implementation, spring framework, hibernate framework, sql, etc.
• 5+ years of strong experience in Core Java/J2EE, Node-JS, Sprint Boot, etc.
• Should have deep knowledge of SOA & Micro services, REST Services Development
• Strong knowledge on Software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Required technical knowledge in Agentic AI, MCP server and their tools
• Working knowledge on Databases of SQL server or MongoDB would be added advantage.

• Exposure to AI Coding tools such as Devin, Cursor

• Excellent communication skills
