Job summary

AB SCIEX PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Production and Process Support Engineer to support the AB SCIEX product range, perform process optimization, qualification and validation, and lead cost and FPY improvement projects.

Located on-site in Singapore, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to transfer knowledge, improve first-pass yields, and drive down product costs while maintaining quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing/lean environment.
• Hands-on experience with assembly and alignment of precision parts, GD&T, MSA, PFMEA, and DFA.
• Ability to work with people & lead activities/projects with cross functional groups, external vendors, suppliers and contractors independently and effectively.
• Positive attitude, open mindset and team player with effective verbal & written communication skills across all levels and function within a multi-disciplinary product development environment
• Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: N/A
• Knowledge of parts used in vacuum system and related areas is a plus.

The Production and Process Support Engineer is responsible for AB SCIEX range of products, including process optimization, qualification and/or validation, lead cost and quality improvement projects to drive down product cost and improve first pass yield and internal DPPM.

This position reports to the Senior Production and Process Support Manager and is part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide both on-site and off-site technical support to the production of AB SCIEX range of products
• Perform process optimization, qualification or/and validation.
• Use of DFA and pFMEA principles to reduce manufacturing cycle time and improve product quality.
• Lead cost and FPY/internal dppm improvement projects.
• Product transfer support & ensure transferring of knowledge from other facilities on design, functional specifications, manufacturing line set up, processes, tooling, fixtures & other related areas.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good mechanical background knowledge or those with 2~4 years of working experience in manufacturing /lean environment. Those with no experience will also be considered.
• Hands-on experience on assembly and alignment of precision parts, tolerance stack up, measurement of 'micron' parts, GD&T/MSA/pFMEA/DFA and with some material and systems engineering experience.
• Ability to work with people & lead activities/projects with cross functional groups, external vendors, suppliers and contractors independently and effectively.
• Positive attitude, open mindset and team player with effective verbal & written communication skills across all levels and function within a multi-disciplinary product development environment

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Knowledge of requirements for parts used in vacuum system, vacuum pump system and leak check troubleshooting
• Knowledge of ultrasonic cleaning/vapor degreaser
• Knowledge of parts fabrication processes (machining, sheet metal, molding, casting etc)
