Proficiency in ERP systems and strong negotiation skills are essential.

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for engineering projects while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, project managers, and engineering teams to meet procurement objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sourcing & Vendor Management:Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors for raw materials, machinery, and engineering components.
    Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
    Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
  2. Procurement Process:Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in compliance with company policies.
    Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet project deadlines.
    Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock to prevent shortages or excesses.
  3. Cost & Risk Management:Analyze market trends and pricing to secure the best deals.
    Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying alternative suppliers.
    Work with finance to manage budgets and cost control.
  4. Technical Evaluation:Review technical specifications of materials/equipment to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
    Collaborate with the engineering team to assess material suitability.
  5. Compliance & Documentation:Ensure adherence to procurement regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports for management.
  6. Cross-functional Coordination:Liaise with project managers, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow.
    Resolve procurement-related issues (delays, defects, etc.) with suppliers.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial), Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in procurement, preferably in engineering/manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office.
    Knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain logistics.
  • Soft Skills:Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
