Job summary

Job description

Overview

Process Control System (PCS) Engineer at Micron is responsible for launching, improving, and controlling manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, yield, cost, and safety while meeting industry‑4.0 standards and integrating AI‑driven tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design, initiate, and optimize processes to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Drive yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and risk management.
  • Diagnose and solve assembly and manufacturing line issues using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and FDC methodologies.
  • Coordinate process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step.
  • Lead yield–improvement and cost‑reduction activities and manage new process baseline qualifications.
  • Audit and liaise with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk objectives.
  • Integrate AI‑assisted tools and insights to increase manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop smart manufacturing solutions for Industry4.0, including Machine Learning, advanced control, IIoT, and deep‑learning models.
  • Conduct data analysis and modeling to identify variation sources and create control solutions.
  • Provide technical support for process‑control implementation and deliver training on control systems.

  • Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry (preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and advanced process control.
  • Baseline digital fluency and AI literacy for responsible AI‑enabled tool use.
  • PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Knowledge of IIoT sensor applications and programming/data‑analysis skills.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, Hadoop, and web‑based application development.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, project‑management, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and travel internationally when required.
