Job summary

A marine engineering company in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to lead project design and documentation within the marine/offshore sector. Responsibilities include delivering project drawings, reviewing technical specifications, and liaising with stakeholders for design compliance. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience and preferably knowledge in FE analysis using FEMAP. This role is critical for ensuring successful project management and execution in newbuilding engineering design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in marine/offshore industry structure newbuilding engineering design.
• Experience in project lead role.
• Knowledge of FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering project design drawing and documents according to project plan.
• Review external designer’s technical specifications and drawing lists.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for design requirement compliance.

Job description

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan
  schedule. Shall take on project lead role.
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and
  approval.
• Perform FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.
• Review project team members drawings or documents prior submission
• Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.
• Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder,
  etc.)
• Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.
• Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed
