Overview
As the Facilities Chemical and Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of all chemical, slurry, bulk and specialty gas and liquid dispense systems. You will also be responsible for engineering project development and supporting the Facilities Section Manager to ensure designs meet customer requirements, company planning objectives, and corporate safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering studies that include good design practice for state‑of‑the‑art system designs, system capacity and capability analysis, and planning for future requirements, as well as code compliance.
- Maintain engineering databases in support of capacity tracking, capital equipment facilitation, and cash flow project management for assigned systems/areas.
- Provide support for start‑up of new equipment and ensure that all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical and electrical systems.
- Specify critical components for design projects and assure designs meet all applicable codes and regulations. Perform code review and analysis utilizing IFC, IBC, NEC, NFPA, FM, CGA, and semi standards.
- Perform engineering studies on emerging facility technologies to support cutting‑edge semiconductor processes.
- Participate in mid‑term and long‑term infrastructure planning for facilities in support of the overall company plan.
- Work with in‑house TGCM contractor and ensure chemical and gas delivery systems run smoothly.
- Review and improve operation and maintenance SOPs and RA.
- Respond to system issues and perform troubleshooting with in‑house TGCM contractors and OEMs.
- Verify all work done by the Chemical and Gas section complies with company safety guidelines, ensure safety features are engineered into designs, and maintain good communication with other engineering disciplines and customers throughout the organization.
- All team members are required to complete their learning items within the stipulated time frame.
- Plan facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts to maximize economy of operation, use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detailed drawings.
- Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facility acquisition.
- Review and estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
- Inspect construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Develop criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.
- QMS responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the QMS/business process is effective and conforms to requirements.
- Ensuring that the processes deliver intended outputs.
- Reporting on QMS/business process performance and improvement opportunities to management.
- Promoting internal and external customer focus throughout the organization.
- Maintaining the integrity of the QMS/business process during planned changes.
- Ensuring customer requirements are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in relevant fields of Chemical and Gas systems.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration.

- Independent and able to work on own initiative.
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize and schedule workload.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
