Job Details:
You will be part of the technical specialists working at the waste management facilities including Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) – a large-scale waste management infrastructural project, and Tuas South Incineration Plant (TSIP).
You may be part of the project team to supervise IWMF construction progress.
The work scope includes:
- To work with project consultants and key stakeholders, such as other government agencies, on the design of the various facilities in IWMF and ensure that IWMF is constructed, erected, installed in accordance with design specifications and complying with statutory requirement.
- To participate in the testing, commissioning of mechanical, process, or electrical, instrument, control and automation equipment/systems.
- To attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) at local and overseas factories to witness and verify quality and performance of major equipment/systems.
It may be part of the technical team in the operation and maintenance of TSIP. Your work scope includes:
- To lead a team of technical supervisors and specialists and coordinate maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient operations of the waste‑to‑energy facility.
- To implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for the facility's electrical and control equipment such as turbo‑generators, motors, switchgears, low‑tension and high‑tension equipment, distributed control system and field instruments.
- To administer contracts for the operation and maintenance of mechanical, EICA or building services equipment.
- To enforce permit‑to‑work system and safe work culture including supervising contractors’ work for quality and safety.
- To formulate and prepare standard operating and safety procedures, equipment testing / changeover programmes.
- To perform shift work in a waste‑to‑energy facility, if needed.
- To work closely with the management of TSIP to implement initiatives on safety and continuous improvement to enhance the safety culture and standards within the plant, as well as drive projects to achieve operational excellence.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural Engineering, Chemical, Environmental Engineering)
- Preferably with 3‑5 years of relevant experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply*.
- Candidates with professional certification, e.g. Professional Engineer, Steam Engineer, Licensed Electrical Worker, Workplace Safety and Health Officer, will be given preference.
- Possess good technical background and strong analytical skills. Knowledge in solid waste management would be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and preferably in Navisworks and Primavera P6.
- Mature, independent, resourceful, and a good team player.
- Good interpersonal communication, presentation and writing skills.
- Able to perform shift work will be advantageous.
- Able to work at construction sites and travel overseas for FATs and training.
As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
*Officers will first undergo training such as foundation modules on the operation and maintenance of waste management facilities and WTE plants; and an attachment with On‑Job‑Training at TSIP. Thereafter, they can be deployed for shift or non‑shift work at IWMF or TSIP.

Working Day : Everyday
(including weekends and public holidays depending on 12‑hour shift cycle)
Rest Day : 5 rest days within one 15‑day period
Salary: TBC depending on relevant experience
