Job summary

Tardis Group in Singapore is seeking a Marine Electrical Engineer to plan, coordinate and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of complex electrical, electronic, automation and control systems across a fleet of vessels.

You will monitor performance, identify recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive measures to improve fleet availability and reliability. This role requires strong technical expertise and hands-on problem-solving in a demanding maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Marine Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience in marine electrical systems, vessel maintenance or ship repair.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical, electronic, automation, control, navigation and communications systems.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, maintenance programmes, engineering reports and evaluations.
• Understanding of vessel maintenance practices, equipment reliability, spare parts management and asset lifecycle planning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of marine electrical, electronic, automation and control systems across vessels.
• Monitor performance and reliability of vessel electrical equipment; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare technical specifications, maintenance scopes and repair plans for dockings and upgrades.
• Liaise with operations, shipyards, contractors and suppliers to ensure safe, timely and within-budget work.
• Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations on maintenance, replacement and refurbishment.
• Support inspections, audits and regulatory compliance of electrical and electronic systems.
• Oversee spare parts planning, inventory management and procurement for electrical/electronic equipment.

Job description

• Plan, coordinate and oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of marine electrical, electronic, automation and control systems across a fleet of vessels.
• Monitor the performance and reliability of vessel electrical equipment, identify recurring technical issues and implement corrective and preventive measures to enhance fleet availability.
• Prepare technical specifications, maintenance scopes and repair requirements for vessel maintenance, docking, refurbishment and upgrade projects.
• Liaise with vessel operations teams, shipyards, contractors and equipment suppliers to ensure maintenance and repair activities are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Conduct technical assessments of marine electrical systems, equipment and service providers, providing recommendations on maintenance, replacement and refurbishment.
• Support vessel inspections, technical audits, surveys and regulatory compliance activities relating to electrical and electronic systems.
• Oversee critical spare parts planning, inventory management and procurement requirements for electrical and electronic equipment.

Requirements

• Degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in marine electrical engineering, vessel maintenance, technical fleet management or ship repair within the maritime industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of marine electrical, electronic, automation, control, navigation and communication systems, with sound troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, maintenance programmes, engineering reports and technical evaluations.
• Good understanding of vessel maintenance practices, equipment reliability, spare parts management and asset lifecycle planning.
