Perle is seeking expert Malay transcribers to convert native speaker audio into precise, time-aligned transcripts. You will determine speaker IDs, handle disfluencies, and apply dialect-aware orthography, going beyond simple transcription standards.

The role emphasizes expert linguistic judgment, with flexible task-based compensation and project-based volume. A strong setup for reliable internet and a quiet workspace is expected.

Formación

• Native fluency in Malay with residence in Malaysia, Brunei or Singapore.
• Mastery of Rumi script orthography; awareness of Jawi where it appears.
• Able to distinguish Malay from Indonesian in transcription decisions.
• Comfortable with Manglish and other code-switching patterns in speech.
• At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, or linguistic annotation.
• Demonstrated word-level accuracy under deadlines and strict quality gates.
• Familiar with web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback.
• Reliable high-speed internet, good headphones, and a quiet workspace.

Responsabilidades

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned Malay text following project style.
• Apply conventions for speaker IDs, overlaps, disfluencies, and non-speech events.
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal and code-switched speech.
• Flag ambiguous segments and audio quality issues per project conventions.
• Self-review submissions against Perle's quality bar before delivery.
• Engage with QA reviewers on edge cases and style-guide updates.
