REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal

JOB GOAL: The Elementary School Learning Coach provides comprehensive support to faculty and the Director of Teaching & Learning to enhance the educational experience at ICSE. As a Standards Based Learning and Assessment school, the ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of the US standards such as Common Core, NGSS and ISTE. This role serves as a liaison between teachers and leadership to ensure effective curriculum implementation and enhance classroom instruction. This inaugural role offers exceptional potential for professional growth and development as you establish and expand the position's scope.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Instruction Coaching
  • Facilitate regular coaching cycles with K4–Grade 5 teachers to support professional growth and promote effective teaching practices
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan lessons, strengthen unit plans, and implement curriculum with a focus on research-based instructional strategies
  • Enhance teachers’ content knowledge and pedagogical skills through active coaching cycles
  • Co‑teach, co‑confer, and micromodel lesson components to support instructional improvement
  • Assist in designing lesson plans and creating instructional materials aligned with Standards Based Learning and Assessment principles
  • Demonstrate exemplary teaching practices, particularly in standards‑based learning and assessment, through model lessons
  • Support differentiation strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Facilitate weekly collaborative planning sessions with grade‑level teams to ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment
  • Reflect on coaching effectiveness and measure progress to refine practices
Professional Development
  • Plan and lead professional development workshops tailored to teacher needs and school goals
  • Actively participate in and contribute to professional learning communities
  • Provide personalized coaching sessions to guide instructional growth and foster reflection
  • Stay informed about emerging educational technologies and share best practices with faculty
Assessment and Data Analysis
  • Support teachers in curriculum planning, assessment creation, and aligning instruction with standards across grade levels
  • Analyze student performance data to guide instructional decision‑making
  • Facilitate the use of data management systems and establish protocols for effective data use
Communication and Collaboration
  • Serve as a liaison between teachers and school leadership, ensuring alignment in curriculum implementation and instructional practices
  • Maintain open communication with the Elementary School Principal and Director of Teaching & Learning
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative learning culture within the elementary school
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of elementary classroom teaching experience
  • In‑depth knowledge of US standards (e.g., Common Core, NGSS, ISTE)
    • Proven experience with Standards‑Based Learning and Assessment
    • Strong background in educational technology integration and digital assessment methods
    • Proficiency in data analysis and its instructional applications
