Job summary

RTX seeks a plating technician to setup, operate and maintain electroplating equipment and perform regular inspection checks. You will read instruction sheets, adhere to EH&S and CORE standards, and keep work areas clean. The role requires physical fitness and the ability to work rotating shifts in a warm environment.

Experience in manufacturing and a NITEC in precision engineering are essential, with basic English proficiency to communicate effectively in a diverse team.

Qualifications

• NITEC in Precision Engineering or equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in a special process.
• Basic command of written and spoken English.
• Physically and mentally fit & willing to perform rotating shifts.
• Able to tolerate high temperature work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain electroplating equipment as per Job Instruction Sheet.
• Set up, operate and maintain measuring equipment, gauges and fixtures for inspection per folders.
• Read and interpret Job Instruction Sheet to carry out work tasks.
• Follow EH&S & CORE requirements; submit hazard observations and safety projects monthly.
• Keep work areas, work tables, plating table, tools and fixtures tidy after use.
• Perform daily housekeeping and weekly total productive maintenance.
• Engage in activities or responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor.
• Notify Supervisor of machine or tooling problems that could affect quality or safety.
• Raise Imaint when equipment is down.
• Wear full PPE in warm environment.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain electroplating equipment as per Job Instruction Sheet.
• Setup, operate and maintain all measuring equipment, gages and fixtures for making accurate inspection checks as per Plating Master & Manufacturing Engineering folder.
• Read and interpret Job instruction sheet required to carry out work tasks.
• Adhere to EH&S & CORE requirements in the work place, submit Hazard observations, QCPC Turnbacks and Safety Innovative Team Projects every month.
• Work in an orderly fashion keeping work areas, work table, plating table, tools, and fixtures in a tidy and clean condition after used.
• Perform daily housekeeping and weekly total productive maintenance.
• Engage in any other activities or responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor.
• Notify the Supervisor or any machine or tooling problems which could jeopardize product quality or infringe safe work conditions.
• Raise Imaint when equipment is down.
• Require to use full PPE in a warm environment.
