The Building Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in buildings and facilities. The role ensures all electrical work complies with safety regulations and building codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, power distribution systems, and control systems in buildings.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring, to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective actions.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with local codes and safety standards.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
  • Support other trades (mechanical, plumbing, etc.) in construction or renovation projects.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and electrical emergencies.
