Overview

Position Title: Electrical Technician

Industry/Organization Type: Fire Protection Services

Location: Sims Ave (7mins walk from Aljunied MRT)

Working Hours: 6 days (Mon – Sat, 8AM – 7PM, with OT)

Salary Package: Gross $1,000 - $1,800 + VB

Duration: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, termination, and testing of equipment and systems on-site.
• Assist in M&E coordination to align electrical works with other services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing).
• Support commissioning activities, including PA addressable systems (if applicable).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and system issues promptly.
• Interpret M&E and FP drawings, schematic diagrams, and construction plans.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and Energy Market Authority (EMA) regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work progress, tools, and materials used.
• Communicate effectively with the site team, subcontractors, and main contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician in construction or M&E projects.
• Proficient in electrical wiring, cabling, panel termination, and containment installation.
• Familiarity with PA addressable systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SS 638, BCA site safety requirements, and EMA guidelines.
• Able to work independently and as part of a site-based team.
• Experience in ELV systems (e.g., fire alarm, CCTV, access control).
• Able to read and interpret M&E layout drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Valid CoreTrade certification is an advantage.
• Work-at-Height (WAH) and hot work/electrical safety certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with SCDF submission standards and authorities’ inspections is a bonus.
