A marine engineering firm in Singapore seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design of electrical power and automation systems for marine projects. Applicants should possess a minimum of 7 years in the marine or offshore industry, with a degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong problem-solving skills are essential. The role includes comprehensive design documentation and coordination with various stakeholders, offering a dynamic work environment for qualified candidates.
Independently develop electrical power and automation system designs that meet class requirements, technical specifications, and project schedules.
Lead the design, review, and integration of marine electrical power systems, automation systems, and navigation/communication systems for assigned projects.
Review engineering studies, including short circuit analysis, harmonic studies, protection and discrimination analysis, and FMEA assessments.
Prepare or review engineering deliverables such as single-line diagrams, control system architectures, load analysis and balancing, voltage drop calculations, illumination (lux) studies, and technical specifications for equipment procurement in compliance with project and classification requirements.
Develop detailed design documentation, including schematics, layouts, cable routing plans, and termination drawings.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering design experience in the marine or offshore industry.
Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Marine, or a related engineering discipline.
Strong knowledge of marine power, automation, and navigation systems.
Familiarity with industry standards, rules, and regulations, including IEC/IEEE/NEC.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and AVEVA software.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Collaborative mindset with strong teamworking skills.
Regular coordination with engineering disciplines, shipyard departments, external designers, vendors, owners, and classification societies.
