Job summary

A marine engineering company in Singapore seeks an Electrical Engineer to manage electrical systems in marine projects. Key responsibilities include inspections, project execution management, and providing EIA expertise. Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in Electrical and Instrumentation/Controls Design within Marine/offshore oil/gas industries.
  • Good knowledge of shipboard safe working practices.
  • Certified Automation Professional Certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend vessels for inspections and troubleshooting of systems.
  • Deliberate with management on project execution requirements.
  • Organize and manage EIA projects.
  • Prepare detailed electrical calculations and designs.
  • Develop control systems documentation.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Attend vessels for inspections, commissioning, surveys and troubleshooting of the automation and electrical systems, boilers, scrubbers, ballast water treatment systems and other machinery.
  • Deliberate with management on the requirements and procedures for project execution.
  • Organize and manage EIA projects toward the fulfillment of a set objective.
  • Provide EIA expertise to produce concept and detail designs for Marine/Ship/Offshore projects.
  • Prepare Electrical Load Balance Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Short Circuit Calculations, Earthing System Calculations, and Breaker Selectivity Analysis.
  • Provide a selection of components like transformers, rectifiers, UPS, circuit breakers, battery system, cable selection, cable schedule, cable bulk MTO etc.
  • Develop Instrument list, I/O list, systems schematics, control philosophy, control narratives, control block diagrams, cause and effect table, data sheets etc.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Prepare Cause and Effect diagrams, Control/Safety Narrative, and Logic Diagrams.
  • Interface with other discipline engineers, clients, equipment suppliers and class authorities.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering or equivalent.
  • An Electrician Engineer Certification is required.
  • Arc Flash & High Voltage Safety Engineer Certification.
  • Programmable Logic Controller Technician Certification.
  • Certified Automation Professional Certification.
  • Advance Marine Electrical Technician Certification.
  • Good knowledge of the shipboard safe working practices.
  • 5 + years' experience in Electrical and Instrumentation/Controls Design within Marine/offshore oil/gas industries.
