Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee electrical, instrumentation, and DCS engineering projects from basic and detailed engineering through installation, testing, and commissioning — ensuring completion within schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Design and specify E&I equipment, control systems, and instrumentation; review contractor and vendor specifications and drawings in coordination with the project team.
- Develop and implement project execution plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
- Provide on-site engineering support between contractors and internal teams to ensure safe and controlled construction activities, including site safety supervision and permit coordination.
- Review and resolve technical issues arising during construction, ensuring proper communication and documentation between the contractor and project team.
- Liaise with project managers and other discipline engineers to ensure smooth coordination across all engineering disciplines.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with project requirements, specifications, and industry standards.
- Evaluate and make recommendations for variation orders and change requests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve E&I issues during execution and commissioning phases.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including project management, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Conduct vendor factory acceptance tests (FAT), site inspections, and progress reviews to identify potential issues early.
- Prepare and review project reports, including progress updates, budget summaries, and technical documentation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; develop contingency and recovery plans as required.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across all stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project engineering experience, preferably in E&I engineering within EPC or chemical process plant environments.
- Proven track record in managing projects through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover stages.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems such as DCS (Yokogawa) and PLC (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi) programming.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation engineering principles, NEC codes, and applicable local/international standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or equivalent.
- Competency in digital tools for data collection, analysis, and visualization (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, SQL).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
- Open to long-term overseas assignments.
