Job summary

Alstern Technologies Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an Electrical / Control Engineer with 3–5 years of relevant experience to design and review electrical, instrumentation, and control system drawings. You will develop single-line diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts, perform load calculations, and coordinate with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical and control engineering within industrial, manufacturing, utilities, semiconductor, data centre, or building services environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, PLCs, HMI, SCADA, BMS, instrumentation, motor control, and industrial networks.
• Experience in electrical design, control panel systems, testing & commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Good analytical, communication, coordination, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and prepare electrical, instrumentation, and control system drawings, calculations, specifications, and documentation.
• Develop single-line diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and PLC/BMS control designs.
• Perform electrical load calculations and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams during project execution.
• Review technical submissions, material specs, vendor drawings, and equipment datasheets for compliance.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical panels, PLCs, field instruments, motors, drives, and control systems.
• Conduct FAT, SAT, loop checks, functional testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to ensure system reliability.
• Provide technical support for preventive maintenance, system upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, electrical safety standards, and company quality systems.
