Job summary

Pfizer’s Environmental Health and Safety team in Singapore is seeking a proactive EHS professional to uphold safety and regulatory standards across manufacturing facilities. You will lead inspections, risk assessments, permits, and incident investigations to help minimize hazards and protect patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, permits, licenses, policies and management system requirements.
• Support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and sustainability objectives.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety tours, risk assessments, audits, RA/JSA, environmental reviews and PTW processes to identify hazards and apply controls.
• Support investigations of incidents, near misses, hazardous observations, and environmental events, including tracking CAPAs to closure.
• Manage EHS documentation, permits, licenses, training records, compliance registers, procedures and emergency plans.
• Support environmental programs: hazardous waste, chemical management, spill response, emissions monitoring and resource conservation.
• Coordinate with waste contractors, service providers, contractors and regulatory bodies for compliant execution of activities.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities, drills, fire safety programs and business continuity initiatives.
• Assist in EHS reviews of facility modifications, MOC and site improvement projects for compliance.
• Monitor EHS performance indicators and reporting for site objectives and improvement projects.
• Promote proactive safety culture through training, communications and contractor management.

What You Will Achieve

• Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations, permits, licenses, company policies, and management system requirements.
• Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, site compliance initiatives, and sustainability objectives.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety tours, compliance assessments, audits, risk assessments (RA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), environmental impact evaluations, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) reviews to identify hazards and implement effective risk controls.
• Support incident, near miss, hazardous observation, and environmental event investigations, including tracking corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure.
• Manage EHS documentation, permits, licenses, training records, compliance registers, procedures, manuals, and emergency response plans to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Support environmental programs including hazardous waste management, chemical management, spill prevention and response, emissions monitoring, resource conservation, and compliance reporting.
• Coordinate with licensed waste contractors, service providers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliant and safe execution of environmental and safety-related activities.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including drills, exercises, fire safety programs, spill response readiness, business continuity, and crisis management initiatives.
• Assist in EHS reviews of facility modifications, engineering projects, management of change (MOC), and site improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
• Monitor EHS performance indicators, regulatory commitments, site objectives, and improvement projects, providing timely reporting and follow-up.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, training, communications, awareness campaigns, contractor management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Perform other EHS-related duties and projects to support operational excellence and the site's license-to-operate objectives.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

• BA/BS degree with any years of experience, or Associate's degree with 4+ years of experience, or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Industrial Safety, especially in manufacturing facilities areas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of computer operation and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to conduct Environment Health & Safety (local applications) trainings.

• Knowledge of risk assessment processes and the ability to suggest suitable controls.
• Experience in formulating cost-effective alternatives for corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.
• Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
