Job summary

NCS Group is seeking a Senior / AI Native Builder for AI Central in Singapore. You will build, productise, and deploy AI-powered products, MVPs, and reusable assets in live client contexts across Singapore and APAC, shaping solutions that scale.

You will work directly with senior leaders and the Chief AI Officer to turn client opportunities into tangible outcomes. Bring hands-on Python/JavaScript, ML/AI delivery experience, and strong stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience accepted
• Strong hands-on engineering with Python, JavaScript, or similar
• Experience delivering AI/ML/generative AI solutions in real-world settings
• Ability to balance experimentation with engineering discipline including security and reliability
• Excellent communication and ability to translate business needs to technical execution

ABOUT AI CENTRAL

• AI Central (AIC) is NCS’s enterprise AI capability spine — the group responsible for building, productising, and deploying NCS’s AI platforms and reusable assets across regulated and mission-critical sectors. AIC works at the intersection of deep AI engineering and high-stakes client environments in aviation, land transport, public safety, telecommunications, and government.
• AIC is not an internal support function. It is where NCS’s most differentiated AI capabilities are built, validated, and scaled — and where solutions developed in Singapore are prepared for regional deployment across Asia Pacific.

As a Senior / AI Native Builder in AI Central, you will help build, productise, and deploy AI-powered products, MVPs, reusable assets, and new ventures for regulated and mission-critical sectors. You will work in live client contexts, turning ambiguous business challenges into working solutions that can be tested, adopted, and scaled across Singapore and the wider Asia Pacific region.

THE ROLE

• Join a startup-style team embedded within one of Singapore’s leading technology services firms, working directly with the Chief AI Officer and senior leaders to turn client opportunities into AI-powered products, MVPs, and new ventures.
• This is a high-autonomy role for experienced builders who thrive in ambiguity and know how to move from problem framing to working solution. You will use AI as a force multiplier across research, design, engineering, and delivery, while staying accountable for real client outcomes.
• We are looking for engineers who can demonstrate that they have designed and deployed consequential AI systems, exercised independent business acumen, critical thinking, and technical judgement under real constraints, and built things that others build on. The right candidate may be early in their career by conventional measures but advanced by the metrics that matter to us.
• You will not be working in a sandbox or building theoretical demos. You will be working in live client contexts, shaping solutions that can be tested, adopted, and scaled.

What You Will Own

• The AI delivery methodology for your assigned sector vertical
• The reusable asset library emerging from your client engagements — ensuring that solutions built for Singapore lighthouse accounts are documented, abstracted, and ready for regional adaptation
• The technical onboarding and capability development of engineers who join your team

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the journey from client problem statement to working prototype, MVP, or deployable solution
• Translate ambiguous business challenges into clear product hypotheses, technical approaches, and execution plans
• Build and ship AI-enabled solutions using the right combination of software engineering, model orchestration, automation, and design tools
• Make sound trade-offs across speed, quality, security, scalability, and business value
• Advise client technology and business leaders on AI investment priorities, architecture decisions, and build-versus-buy choices — drawing on NCS’s cross-sector experience and AIC’s capability base
• Drive fast experiments and iterative delivery cycles to validate desirability, feasibility, and value
• Contribute reusable patterns, playbooks, and working practices that help NCS scale AI-native delivery across sectors and geographies
• Stay current with emerging AI tools, methods, and frameworks, and apply them where they create measurable advantage

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is also valued
• Strong hands-on engineering ability in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages, with experience building and integrating production-grade applications
• Demonstrated experience delivering AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions in real-world settings
• Strong understanding of modern AI tooling, including LLM application patterns, orchestration frameworks, automation platforms, evaluation approaches, and model limitations
• Ability to balance experimentation with sound engineering discipline, including security, reliability, and maintainability
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical execution and to advise at the executive level
• Proven ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and deliver outcomes at pace

GOOD TO HAVE

• Experience in consulting, venture building, startup environments, or innovation teams
• Experience deploying AI solutions in enterprise or regulated environments — aviation, land transport, public safety, telecommunications, or government
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, CI/CD, analytics, and observability
• Experience shaping early-stage products with users and iterating based on feedback
• Regional exposure — experience designing or adapting solutions across multiple Asia Pacific markets
