Job summary

NCS is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, deploy and support AI applications across GCP, AWS and Azure. You will deliver secure cloud AI solutions, leverage Gen AI and Agentic workflows, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure project success.

Required hands-on AI experience (4+ years) and proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, plus strong scripting in Python or Bash. This role emphasizes secure software delivery and enterprise-scale cloud architectures.

Qualifications

• Mandatory – Hold one or more Professional Level Cloud certifications.
• Minimum 6-7 years of relevant IT experience, preferably with an SI company.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Java (8+), J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate.
• Strong exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS/ECS, Fargate, GCP/Azure services.
• Experience with Terraform and other IaC tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, Fortify).
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and API management.
• Familiarity with big data services and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Description

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at NCS, you will work hands-on, designing, rapidly building and maintaining AI applications built on various Cloud environments such as GCP, AWS, Azure.

In this position, your responsibilities will include designing, deploying, and supporting various Cloud AI solutions and leverage on services such as Gemini Enterprise, AWS Bedrock, Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine, Google Cloud VMware Engine, and Compute Engine. Your experience should cover secure foundations/landing zone delivery, cloud migrations, LLMOps, Agentic Workflows and Rapid Prototyping. A deep understanding of DevOps principles, platform delivery, and application/developer enablement is essential. You will also work with a wide range of applications and architectures, requiring a solid comprehension of APIs, software development practices, networking concepts, and security best practices.

You will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, provide ongoing support, and identify continuous improvement and optimisation opportunities. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are a must, as is the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and technologies in the dynamic cloud landscape.

Most of all, we'll want you to have strong consulting skills, a customer-first attitude, a keen focus on secure software delivery, and a desire to add value both internally and externally.

Additional Information

• Previous experience in a similar role as an AI focused Engineer developing, implementing or managing secure Google Cloud/AWS/Azure based AI solutions at an enterprise level
• Strong exposure to AI technologies such as Gen AI, Agentic AI, LLMOps, rapid prototyping, finetuning AI Apps performance etc..
• Mandatory hands-on AI experienceof at least 4 years, with at least one year hands-on experience in different cloud environments.
• Previous experience of working on Government projects
• Previous experience building infrastructure as code with Terraform at an advanced level
• Ability to script in at least one of the following languages: Python, Bash
• Applied knowledge of CI/CD concepts and deployment of platform solutions
• Solutions experience leveraging core services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, etc and their equivalent in respective cloud platforms.
• Be well-versed in networking concepts, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, load balancing, firewalls, and DNS
• Security-focused with a deep understanding of cloud security principles, threats, and mitigation techniques
• Hold one more of the following Professional Level Cloud certifications: Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Developer or other professional-level Cloud certifications

Responsibility

• Design and build solutions leveraging upon AI technologies
• Develop traditional APIs, services and backend jobs in both server and GCP, AWS, Azure environments
• Design and build solutions for transition from traditional, legacy platforms to Agentic workflows
• Refactor existing multi-channel architecture providing differentiated end-user experiences by leveraging AI Technologies, containerization and cloud technology
• Follow governance and microservices development guiding principles in ensuring that the best practices are adhered to as part of the development cycle
• Demonstrate ownership of technical designs, code development, and component test execution to align with functional specification.
• Use configuration management and integration/build automation tools to deploy application code.
• Perform code scans, code reviews and provide critical suggestions for fixes and improvements
• Support issue analysis and resolution activities during test and production support phases
• Collaborate within a project team comprised of talented employees with diverse and complementary skills

Qualifications

• Mandatory – Hold one or more of Professional Level Cloud certifications: Generative AI Leader, Machine Learning Engineer, Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Developer or other professional-level Cloud certifications
• Minimum 6-7 years of relevant IT experience, preferably with an SI company
• Technically hands-on IT professional and equipped with one or more of the following languages, tools and technologies:
  • Python, Java (minimum version 8), J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate
  • AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, Azure Foundry
  • Strong exposure to various LLMs leveraging on RAG, Agentic workflows, appropriate design patterns and best practices
  • Strong hands-on experience with containerization and cloud technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS/ECS, Fargate, Cloud native services such as GCP Cloud Run/AWS Lambda) as well as DevOps and testing tools (Git, SVN, TFS, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus, Selenium, SonarQube, Fortify)
  • Strong understanding of security as part of design
  • Strong exposure to API Management Frameworks such as Apigee, WSO2 etc
  • Good exposure to Javascript frameworks such as React.js, Angular.js etc
  • Databases such as MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle
  • BigQuery, AWS native NoSQL such as DynamoDB, Aurora, MS Fabric
  • Strong exposure to cloud-native application architecture etc
  • Good understanding of fine tuning performance in production systems
  • Hands on in troubleshooting production issues
• Experience in software development and maintenance lifecycle
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to engage all stakeholders up to Director Level
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities
