NCS in Singapore is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to contribute to full-stack features under the guidance of senior engineers. You will write clean, tested code and collaborate across product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable software solutions.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, and familiarity with frontend frameworks and backend tech such as Java Spring Boot, Node.js or Python frameworks.

Formación

• 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Foundational proficiency in at least one frontend framework (React.js, Next.js, Vue.js, or Angular).
• Foundational proficiency in at least one backend technology: Java Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python frameworks (Django/Flask/FastAPI).
• Understanding of RESTful API development.
• Knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD concepts.
• Awareness of basic security principles and secure coding practices.
• Experience using unit testing frameworks.

As an Associate Software Engineer , you will be a growing technical contributor who builds, tests, and enhances full-stack features under the guidance of senior engineers. You will apply engineering standards, write clean and tested code, and collaborate across product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.

What will you do?

Software Development & Implementation

• Engineer, test, and deploy frontend and backend features in line with established architecture, coding standards, and secure development practices
• Craft clean, reusable, and well-tested code with guidance from senior engineers
• Build responsive, accessible, and performant web application components
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and defects with support from the team

Collaboration & Quality Assurance

• Partner with product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to deliver quality features
• Participate actively in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality
• Collaborate with QA engineers to strengthen test coverage and release readiness
• Leverage version control systems and support CI/CD pipeline improvements

Learning & Professional Development

• Stay current with relevant tools, frameworks, and development practices
• Adopt AI-augmented development tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Seek mentorship and guidance from senior engineers to accelerate technical growth
• Contribute ideas in team discussions and continuous improvement activities

The ideal candidate should possess:

• 1-2 years of professional software engineering experience
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
• Foundational proficiency in at least one frontend frameworks such as React.js, Next.js, Vue.js, or Angular
• Foundational proficiency in at least one backend technology: Java Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Understanding of RESTful API development
• Knowledge of databases and SQL
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD concepts
• Awareness of basic security principles and secure coding practices
• Experience using unit testing frameworks

Nice-to-Have (Bonus)

• UI, frontend quality & design tooling : Exposure to UI libraries such as Material-UI, Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap; familiarity with Figma; awareness of responsive design, accessibility, cross-browser compatibility and basic frontend performance optimisation.
• API, observability & scalability basics: Familiarity with RESTful APIs and exposure to GraphQL or WebSockets; basic understanding of logs, monitoring dashboards, alerts, caching, rate limiting, load balancing, autoscaling or Redis.
• AI-assisted development: Hands-on use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor for coding, testing, debugging and documentation; ability to write clear prompts, provide useful code context and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security and maintainability.
