Education Tour Crew (Casual), Singapore Oceanarium ($14.00 / hour)

The Crew conducts and delivers educational tours, public programmes, and learning journeys about animals and habitats in the Singapore Oceanarium.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Educational Tours, Public Programmes and Learning Journeys to enable Guests to have an in-depth learning experience and provide insightful information about animals and habitats in the oceanarium. This includes programmes conducted in Mandarin.
  • Facilitate overnight camps to share fun facts and information about animals in a fun and interactive manner to engage and educate the guests. This includes overnight camps conducted in Mandarin.
  • Interact with guests to share information on sustainability and conservational matters and emphasize the importance of taking care of the environment.
  • Contribute ideas to new learning journeys that are being developed.
  • Assist in packing of logistical items for Tours, Programmes and Learning Journeys to ensure smooth execution of all these programmes.
  • Provide exceptional guest services by observing safety protocol and upholding service standards.
Requirements
  • GCE O/A Levels and Diploma in any discipline.
  • Passionate in serving guests.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in engaging children and students (guiding, tutoring, teaching) will be an advantage.
  • Programmes may be conducted in Mandarin, and fluency in the Mandarin language would be an advantage to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  • Passionate about marine animals and environment.
  • Knowledge/background in marine biology or marine animals would be useful.
  • Confident interacting with large groups of people on topics related to marine animals and environment.
  • Able to perform shift work, and willing to work during evenings, weekends and public holidays.
