Job summary

The National Institute of Education (NIE) invites applications for a Research Assistant on a 24-month contract in the Policy, Curriculum and Leadership Department. The project investigates how Teacher Leaders support school capacity, motivation and engagement in Singapore's educational settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Social Sciences or related field.
• Interest in educational research... teacher leadership, educational support, student motivation/engagement, or school improvement.
• Prior teaching or relevant professional experience in education/educational settings.
• Knowledge of qualitative research methods would be advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage research data.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature searches and assist with literature reviews.
• Support recruitment, liaison, and scheduling of participating schools and participants.
• Assist with preparation and administration of research materials and documentation.
• Support qualitative data collection, including semi-structured interviews.
• Organize, manage, and maintain interview transcripts and research data with ethics compliance.
• Assist with qualitative data coding and analysis using NVivo or other software.
• Support preparation of research summaries, presentations, reports, and outputs.
• Assist with project administration, documentation, and coordination.
• Other research-related duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
