A publishing company in Singapore seeks an Editorial Manager to oversee manuscript editing and publication processes. Responsibilities include ensuring clarity and accuracy in publications, collaborating with design teams, and supporting marketing initiatives. Candidates should possess a relevant Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years in editorial or teaching roles, along with a solid understanding of local education systems.
Edit and proofread manuscripts, proofs, and related materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, coherence, appropriateness, and alignment with product concepts and house style.
Ensure that all subject content is correct, precise, and effectively communicated to the intended audience.
Evaluate submitted manuscripts and guide authors, providing editorial feedback, assisting with content restructuring, or writing when necessary, and ensuring alignment with approved proposals and target audience expectations.
Collaborate with graphic designers and layout artists to create visually appealing and effective designs, including diagrams, charts, and overall page layout, ensuring alignment with the content and publication style.
Manage the full publishing cycle, from manuscript development to final publication, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high editorial quality.
Contribute to the team’s publishing roadmap, actively participating in content conceptualization, planning, and execution to support portfolio growth and organizational goals.
Propose and develop new publication ideas and titles, drafting compelling publishing proposals based on market research, trends, and audience needs.
Support marketing and promotional initiatives, including creating marketing materials, conducting product briefings, and representing the team at book fairs and industry events to maximize visibility and reach.
Ensure editorial standards and compliance, maintaining consistency, accuracy, and quality across all language publications while adhering to copyright and industry regulations.
Perform other editorial tasks as assigned by the reporting officer to support organizational objectives.
