Job summary

SIM LIAN CONSTRUCTION CO. (PTE.) LTD. is seeking a qualified EHS professional to manage environmental control, workplace safety and health compliance on construction sites in Singapore.

You will coordinate regulatory submissions, conduct inspections, lead training, investigate incidents, manage waste and liaise with client representatives and authorities to promote a safe, hygienic work environment and to support the Green and Gracious Builder Scheme.

Qualifications

• Must uphold Environmental Public Health Act requirements.
• Experience coordinating with authorities and client representatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit Site Environmental Control Programme and monthly reports to authorities.
• Monitor site pollution (noise, air, water, drainage) to maintain standards.
• Identify vectors and rodents to prevent health hazards on site.
• Oversee waste disposal and maintain hygiene standards on site.
• Coordinate with client representatives on environmental matters and GGBS implementation.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify and rectify unsafe conditions.
• Verify subcontractors' WSHE compliance and document findings.
• Facilitate Daily Toolbox Meetings and monthly WSHE inspections.
• Ensure emergency equipment availability (first aid, extinguishers, AEDs).
• Communicate evacuation routes and procedures to stakeholders.
• Organize training campaigns and verify worker training records.
• Issue EHS infringement notices and assist in investigations as needed.

Job Summary

Manage environmental control, workplace safety, and health compliance on construction sites, ensuring regulatory adherence and promoting a safe, hygienic work environment through inspections, training, and coordination with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Environmental Control & Health

• Prepare and submit Site Environmental Control Programme and monthly reports to relevant authorities to ensure compliance.
• Monitor and control site-specific pollution including noise, air, water, and drainage to maintain environmental standards.
• Identify and manage disease-bearing vectors and rodents to prevent health hazards on site.
• Oversee solid waste disposal and maintain high standards of housekeeping and canteen food hygiene to promote site cleanliness.
• Coordinate with client representatives on environmental matters and support Green and Gracious Builder Scheme (GGBS) implementation.

Workplace Safety & Health (WSH)

• Conduct daily site inspections to identify and immediately rectify unsafe conditions or practices, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Verify sub-contractors' compliance with all WSHE regulations and requirements to uphold safety standards.
• Facilitate and document Daily Toolbox Meetings and monthly WSHE Committee inspections and meetings to maintain safety communication.
• Ensure availability and maintenance of emergency equipment including first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, and AEDs for emergency readiness.
• Communicate emergency evacuation routes and procedures clearly to all site stakeholders to ensure preparedness.

Training, Promotion & Administration

• Organize campaigns, training courses, and monthly promotions to sustain worker engagement in health and safety practices.
• Verify worker training records and validate documentation for lifting and electrical equipment to ensure competency.
• Issue EHS Infringement Notices for violations and assist in accident investigations and report preparation to enforce compliance.
• Maintain a robust WSHE filing system and perform other duties as instructed by senior management to support operational efficiency.

Required competencies and certifications

• Must assume roles as specified in the Environmental Public Health Act.
• Hold relevant WSHE training certifications as required by regulatory bodies.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Strong coordination skills for liaising with client representatives and authorities.
