Job summary

Job description

We are seeking aspiring and dynamic individuals with the passion of wanting to make a positive impact in the lives of children with special needs in the Preschool settings.

The Early Intervention (InSP) Teacher supports children with developmental needs within the preschool setting under the Inclusive Support Programme (InSP). The teacher works collaboratively with early intervention professionals, preschool educators, and families to design and implement Individualised Educational Plans (IEPs) that promote holistic child development.

Responsibilities
  • Identification and Assessment: Observe and monitor children’s development, conduct screenings, and work closely with preschool staff, parents, and professionals to gather information and evaluate children’s developmental progress.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with the preschool team and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Instruction and Support: Provide specialized instruction and support to children with developmental delays or disabilities within the context of the mainstream preschool setting.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate and provide consultation and resources to parents and preschool staff by facilitating communication among all stakeholders.
  • Progress Monitoring and Evaluation: Collect data, conduct screenings, and adjust instruction and support strategies as needed to ensure that children are making meaningful progress.
  • Family Engagement: Provide guidance and resources to support parents in understanding their child’s developmental needs, offering strategies and techniques for promoting development at home, and facilitating parent‑teacher conferences and other family engagement activities.
Requirements
  • Possess Diploma in Early Childhood and/or Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention‑Special Needs (ADESN)
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in the preschool environment or working with special needs children
  • Proficient in PECS, positive reinforcement and behavioral management strategies and other early intervention teaching methodology
  • Proficient in crafting and planning of IEP
  • Good empathy, tolerance and temperament towards children is a must
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work well independently as well as within a team

Foreign qualifications will be reviewed for equivalency and recognition in accordance with ECDA guidelines.
